Kentucky corn farmer and KY Corn board member, Josh Lancaster, was named the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Advocate of the Year at NCGA’s Corn Congress session in Washington, D.C. Based in Slaughters, Kentucky, Lancaster farms corn and soybeans with his brother Kyle in Webster, Hopkins, Henderson, McLean, and Daviess counties.
The Advocate of the Year is chosen based on several factors, including the farmer’s consistent participation in calls-to-action, involvement in NCGA’s advocacy trainings and leadership development programs, membership in the association’s PAC, and engagement with elected officials.
Lancaster serves on the NCGA CornPAC Committee and has participated in NCGA’s Leadership Academy, and ACE Series leadership programs. He has responded to NCGA calls to action focused on the farm bill, E15, and more this past year. In May, he paused everything on the farm to fly to Washington, D.C. and advocate for year-round E15 prior to the final vote that passed the House of Representatives.
Lancaster is also the immediate past president of KYCGA.
“We are excited to see him receive this recognition for his hard work and passion for advocating for America’s corn growers,” Jed Bower, Ohio farmer and president of the National Corn Growers Association, said.
Kentucky Corn would like to congratulate Josh on this outstanding honor and thank him for his advocacy on behalf of Kentucky corn growers. “Josh is so deserving of this award. He goes above and beyond to advocate for corn farmers, and serves as an excellent example of what an agriculture advocate and leader can be,” Laura Knoth, KY Corn Executive Director, said.
