Scholarships
The Kentucky Corn Growers Association is proud to offer four scholarships to high school seniors and current college students pursuing degrees in agriculture or a related field from an accredited college, university, or trade school.
Two $1,000
scholarships for high
school seniors
One $2,000
scholarship for an existing college student
(undergrad or graduate)
One $2,000
(undergrad or graduate)
Either the student or the student’s parents/guardians must be a Kentucky Corn Grower Association member to qualify. Applicants will be judged on academic performance (minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and minimum ACT score of 18 if required by the post-secondary institution), citizenship, leadership, and the role they want to play in the future of agriculture. Kentucky Corn scholarship recipients are eligible to reapply.
Applicants must submit the following information with their application form:
- Two letters of recommendation,
- Most recent transcript, and;
- Completion of a comprehensive essay.
Scholarship winners will be announced on or before April 15. Awards will be sent directly to the winners’ accredited institution no later than August 1 and may be used for tuition, housing, books and other educational expenses. If a student is not enrolled in coursework by the Fall semester, the award may be forfeited unless serious illness or injury prevents enrollment. In such a case, the award may be used the following semester.

Andrew Reding, of Hodgenville, will pursue a degree in Ag Ecosystem Sciences with a focus in Crop Production from the University of Kentucky.
Riley Pierce
Riley Pierce, of Science Hill, will pursue a degree in Agriculture Economics from Somerset Community College.
Nick Hockensmith
Nick Hockensmith, of Frankfort, is pursuing a degree in Ag Ecosystem Sciences from the University of Kentucky with plans of becoming a precision agronomist.
Sam McCoun
Sam McCoun, of Shelbyville, is pursuing a general agriculture degree from Western Kentucky University, and his goal is to farm and work in agricultural mechanics.
