Research.

Each year, about 20% of checkoff contributions are dedicated to research to improve production, profitability, and market opportunities for Kentucky farmers and the corn industry.

We work closely with the University of Kentucky on several projects.

A sampling of research projects supported by the Kentucky Corn Promotion Council include:

  • Corn variety testing
  • Variable rate Irrigation
  • Nitrogen Rate
  • Cover Crops
  • Agronomy and fertilizers

Ethanol-focused Research Investments

  • Kentucky Corn Promotion Council’s research investments are committed to helping develop technology that can unlock ethanol for heavy-duty engine applications.
  • ClearFlame’s engine technology retains the high torque, energy efficiency, and durability benefits currently associated with diesel engines yet eliminates the need for diesel fuel and its associated emissions challenges.
