Farm Bill 2.0 passes the US House of Representatives, now on to the Senate

A step in the right direction taken today by the U.S. House of Representatives as they passed the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 (H.R. 7567), otherwise known as “Farm Bill 2.0”.

The House voted 224-200 to pass the farm bill, which the Kentucky Corn Growers Association and Kentucky Small Grain Growers Association applauds.

Thank you to the Kentucky representatives who voted in support of this agriculture legislation.

The bill was first introduced in February by the House Agriculture Committee, and now moves to the U.S. Senate for consideration, where another long fight is expected. Click here to learn more about the House’s farm bill.

Unfortunately, earlier this week, the E15 amendment was taken out of the farm bill and is scheduled to be voted on independently the week of May 11. The separate E15 legislation is expected to be brought to a vote, then later attached to the Farm Bill if passed. The legislation has the text agreed by members of the E15 Rural Domestic Energy Council.

For us, grassroots means that corn farmer members are the organization. Our organization is governed by a board of directors of volunteer farmers who are elected by farmer members. Kentucky Corn Growers Association’s ability to influence policy decisions depends entirely on the strength of its membership.
