Applications now open for the 2025-2026 Bluegrass AgTech Challenge Grant

Lexington, Ky. — Bluegrass AgTech Development Corp (BADC) announces that applications are now open for the 2025–2026 Bluegrass AgTech Challenge Grant, inviting agtech and food innovation startups to apply for funding and support to grow their technologies and businesses in Kentucky.

The Challenge Grant supports early-stage and growth-stage companies developing solutions that strengthen Kentucky agriculture, food systems, and rural economies. Selected companies can receive grant funding alongside connections and access to industry and research partners.

Eligible applicants include for-profit businesses with technologies, products, or services that address real challenges facing agriculture and food systems. Priority will be given to companies that demonstrate clear benefit to Kentucky farmers, supply chains, or communities, or that commit to establishing or expanding operations in the state.

Focus areas include future proofing animal protein, solutions for mid-size farming, sustainable food systems, food-as-health innovation, and leveraging Kentucky traditions of equine & distilling.

Applications are open now and must be submitted by the February 15, 2026 deadline. Applicants must provide a dollar-for-dollar match for requested grant funds, which may include cash or eligible in-kind salary or wage contributions.

The Bluegrass AgTech Challenge Grant is part of BADC’s broader mission to position Kentucky as a national leader in agricultural innovation by connecting entrepreneurs with capital, partners, and pilot opportunities.
