How Does Russian Invasion on Ukraine Affect the Corn Industry?

With a lot of unknowns and surreal times ahead, we are concerned with the future and the people impacted in both countries. We are also closely monitoring how this will directly impact corn.

Ukraine is the 4th largest corn exporter, supplying 16.4% of the world’s corn. Russia is the 5th largest corn exporter. At this time, ports in both the Black Sea and the Azov Sea are closed with an undetermined time to reopen unclear.

KyCorn is keeping ears to the ground and expects corn market conversations to evolve rapidly in the next days and weeks.

NCGA’s Jon Doggett in his podcast also recently talked with Colonel Mark Purdy, the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Aimpoint Research, about how food security is vital to national security.

What we do.

Kentucky Corn strives to create a future for Kentucky corn farmers where they can operate successfully, grow demand and foster an understanding of corn farmers and the industry.

For us, grassroots means that corn farmer members are the organization. Our organization is governed by a board of directors of volunteer farmers who are elected by farmer members. Kentucky Corn Growers Association’s ability to influence policy decisions depends entirely on the strength of its membership.
