KyCorn farmer leaders are attending the US Grains Council summer board meeting this week and learning how ethanol exports across the globe are breaking records.

Growing ethanol exports have a been a primary focus of USGC for the past few years. According to their strategic plan, USGC’s goal is to build recognition of U.S. biofuels as the global standard for octane enhancement and clean, renewable fuel through the following achievements:

  • Expand global use and export 4 billion gallons by 2022

  • Develop programming that highlights key benefits of U.S. biofuel

  • Achieve measurable market gains in biofuel blend goals for priority volume markets

  • Establish beachheads in new markets

  • Maximize relationships with industry partners and stakeholders

“It is very positive to see the US Grains Council applying Agriculture Trade Program funds to expand ethanol exports to markets overseas,” remarked KyCorn Vice President Richard Preston, “especially with the ethanol industry facing a demand destruction from our own EPA domestically.”
