NCGA Leadership Symposium Helps Kentucky Address Grower Needs

Richard Preston, Joseph Sisk and Laura Knoth spent a couple of cold days in St. Louis this week attending the NCGA Leadership Symposium along with leaders from Corn Growers’ Associations across the country. The training focused on developing skills for working together, performing board duties and responsibilities, and working for the future of the organization. They also learned to assess trends, and develop processes for planning and thinking strategically about the needs of corn growers.

KyCorn Vice President Richard Preston also attended the NCGA State Presidents’ and Corn Board Meeting to represent Kentucky’s priorities. Those included market development through trade and ethanol, research for improved production and sustainability, building consumer trust and communication, growing membership and leadership development.

What we do.

Kentucky Corn strives to create a future for Kentucky corn farmers where they can operate successfully, grow demand and foster an understanding of corn farmers and the industry.

Become a member.

For us, grassroots means that corn farmer members are the organization. Our organization is governed by a board of directors of volunteer farmers who are elected by farmer members. Kentucky Corn Growers Association’s ability to influence policy decisions depends entirely on the strength of its membership.

By being a member, you make the Kentucky Corn Growers Association a stronger advocacy group.
